"I'M A SOLDIER!"
I guess my political bombardment of the military is passe, so I'll stick to the sports blogging routine. Neilsen told me my ratings went down and they were thinking of moving me to C-Span. Don't want that.
-BREAKING NEWS: EAGLES RELEASE WR FREDDIE MITCHELL. Don't know why but this song seems fitting for Philly fans nationwide. Hopefully you can come in "handy" with another squad (I crack myself up).
-Kellen, have I ever told you the story of one Jay Williams? Well, soldiers know how to deal with this, so I'm sure Kellen will have no problem with another year off. IDIOT!
-Yanks & D-Rays: Together For the First Time. $200 million in payroll + The Unit + Pavano = the basement? I was born and raised a Yankee fan when they were pathetic. I looked up to Mattingly, enjoyed Steve Sax, and liked Danny Tartabull. I guess Costanza forgot to get Georgie's calzone. Once again, this is why I think chemistry > payroll/all-stars. All-Stars help, but only if you have the chemistry.
-No Soup For You! Are we in 1999 again? Mt. Mutumbo swatting kids like flies. I still want to see Yao dominate the Mavs like he should be. He's no Shawn Bradley, and I don't want him to be. Thank God for T-Mac huh?
-Straight Outta Oaktown: Paulie! Take the foul, hit free throws, go back to Bean Town. But you had to catch a case. What would Roy think, huh? Oh, and 'Toine is garbage. 2-on-1 break, Delonte under the hoop...and I think I'll throw up some grimey lay-up at full speed with no chance at it getting in the basket. GOSH!
Bulls/Wiz game 6 Tonight in the District. I don't know how the Baby Bulls can pull it off, but I'm hoping. I'll catch the first half before I go to the studio [hint hint]. Saturday should be a fun day as well. I bounce off campus probably Tuesday as I continue pressing for these NYC internships. And ClearChannel is trying to send me a virus via staff e-mail. A simple "no" would do. Anyways:

Should be a good show. Thanks for reading and I'll try to get more comedy into this blog sooner than later (i.e Chappelle Breaking down? :-/) PEACE.

The Truth 2.0: The U.S. Military Gets The Gasface

I'm sick of this shit! This past week, the U.S. military is looking worse than Lil' Kim's lips. Got a song bout it. Wanna hear it? Here it go:
-England Court-Martial Declared A Mistrial: BULLLLLSHIIIITTTTT! The judge said that he was not convinced that she knew that her actions were wrong at the time. I don't think stealing bagels from the dining hall is illegal, or "stealing" music from the internet, but they are "illegal." Its as if someone wronged me, so I killed him out of spite. Sure, I don't think its wrong, but I murdered someone and that is "illegal." This shit just boggles my mind. They find Baretta not guilty and this fat, tubby bitch is on the verge of getting off with the most serious charges? Fuck the Armed Forces.
- Army 'hid truth of Tillman death': Completely messed up on all levels. He, as well as other soldiers, deserve better than that.
-U.S. Officials Suspected of Embezzlement in Iraq: This doesn't surprise me. I should be in shock and awe, but I don't expect much from the officials. There was a piece on last week's 60 Minutes on how soldiers found major loot in some houses, and were trying to keep it for themselves. One soldier even sent a decent amount back to his mother's house in Jersey. I honestly can't blame these kids. The wages they get are lower than some janitors. And for what they are sacrificing while over there, they deserve better.
-How Far Will Army Recruiters Go?: ""I was shocked. I'm sitting there looking at a poster that says 'Integrity, Honor, Respect,' and he is telling me to lie." Reminds me of Farenheit 9/11 when they followed the recruiters in Michigan. "Ok, just give us your current phone number, your social security number and a cover letter attached to your resume and we'll conviently take your name off the recruitment list." Bitches.
-U.S. Says Zarqawi May Be Ill: "U.S. officials gave no details as to why they believe Zarqawi may be sick or injured." Wow, what is new with our "intelligence?" "...officials had "received a tip that there were terrorists in and around the hospital in Ramadi. "Everyone is a terrorist nowadays. Even Cat Stevens.
-Iraq Deserted Iraq!: His name is Karim Iraq. I have no comment on this.
And now...I will attempt to cover less interesting, non-political topics
- Today at 5:05:05 am & pm the time will be 05:05:05 05/05/005.... 05.05.005 comes only once in 1000 years and coinciding with Thursday (5th Day of the week) comes only once in 7000 yrs... Oh what a glorious day. Next year, June 6th should be interesting.
-Down Goes Fray-Zha!: Kelsey is too much for me. What kind of stage is that with little landmines in it? Flat surface is the best I'd say.
-Banned Band from playing 'Louie Louie': Betcha they woulda been allowed to play some Elvis material they he stole from Chuck Berry though...
Well I'm done. My blog game is tighter than Gilbert Arenas at the buzzer (Major props to Pargo though).

The Truth: Luke Ridnour Edition

Mark my blog: This kid is going to be big in the next couple of years. Sure, he still makes 2nd year mistakes, but his poise and his confidence are flourishing each game of the post-season. When Seattle chose Ridnour and Collison 2 picks apart, I thought they were bad picks. Maybe it was just rare seeing two white boys go that high, but I didn't think they would help the Sonics in anyway. I'm glad I have to swallow my words with that.
DID YOU SEE LUKE AT HALF COURT WITH THAT DIPSY-DO ASSIST TO 'SHARD?! I ALMOST FELL OUT MY BED. The kid knows the game and honestly, I can see him at a Steve Nash level within the next couple years.
And look at that 2003 draft! Of those chosen in the lottery, how many are still alive? Wade, Melo (Gone Fishin' After Tonight), Hinrich, and Collison (Ridnour #14). Jarvis Hayes too, but he isn't making much of an impact. Call it me hating on those kids leaving HS/College early, but look how many "college stars" are still there. All these kids (Melo, Wade, Hinrich, Collison) were in the 2003 Final 4 *cough* which 'Cuse won *cough*. I know, it is only the first round, BUT STILL!. And of those favored to win it all (Spurs, Suns, Heat, Pistons), how many High School stars make up those rosters? (Amare is different, cause he's a fucking beast/man-child.) Duncan: 4 years at Wake Forest. Shaq: 3 at LSU. Wade: 3 at Marquette (and a triple-double in the Final Four loss to KU). Nash: 4 Years at some Cal-Tech school. And if you look at the rest of the rosters, most these players stayed atleast 2 years at their college.

Now, I'm not against Commissioner (Fuhrer) Stern's Age-Limit proposal....but I'm not for it either. I think the league is good as it is, but its the kids that need to realize what they're doing. For every KG, Kobe, T-Mac and Amare, there are your Omar Cooks, your Kwame Browns (more on this schmuck later), and Deshaun Stevensons. Plus the others that didn't get drafted and are trying to make a statement either overseas or in the NBDL.
I think these kids need to either (A) Realize college can only help your skills since half these kids still need to learn fundamentals that they don't get in HS or (B) Use the NBDL if they are in such financial problems that they can't stay in college (i.e. Louisville's Garcia). These kids saw what 'Melo and 'Bron did in their first years and thought "Hey, I could do that!" I don't know how, but these 2 kids are blessed. Also, 'Melo used the guidance of Jim Boeheim and that DEFINITELY helped his stock. Kid was gonna go to NBA after Oak Hill, but one year and a championship later, the kid goes #3 and is spokesman for "Got Milk". Truth is: Some of these kids don't have NBA talent, and they have to realize that and put off the quick money for a scholarship at a college program. And just to show how the NBDL has its rewards, this year's NBA Most Improved Player: Bobby Simmons. Also you had Rafer "Skip To My Lou" Alston who honed some skills in the NBDL as well as I'd say half of the Charlotte Bobcats.
So I think Stern has the right idea for an age-limit, but I'd say it's the kids/parents who need to think harder and with their brains rather than with their checking account. And Jermaine O'Neal should not have a word to say about the age-limit. I'm sorry, but for a kid that didn't go to college, it's hard to respect his opinions. Not saying that kids who didn't go to college aren't smart (i know many), but to call it a "double-standard" is ridiculous. For the first 4 years you were some scrawny kid behind Rasheed Wallace in Portland. True, you are now an All-Star, but you probably could have used some college ball to help you out. Kids see the guaranteed money and start jumping out their body.
Just like Luke Ridnour, these kids need to learn to love college and what they learn there. You learn more than just pick-n-rolls and how to play with non-high school acne kids. You mature. Look at the kids still in the play-offs, and you'll see.
-My stomach hurts, can I get more PT coach? I'm sorry, but I don't think this kid wouldn't have been much even if he had gone to U of Florida. MJ, it's a good thing you're not the President anymore. And you still get the flack for this pick. Look who else you could have picked!!: JRich! Gasol! Tony Parker! Gilbert Arenas! Zach Randolph! Then again, you probably look better than Dumars picking Darko. Only time will tell on that one. (Imagine Detroit w/ Melo? Crazy)
-Move Out Posse! Finally!!! Black Eyed Peas split and M.O.P. leaving Dame Dash Music are great news events in the previous weeks. GIMME A FUCKING ALBUM DANZE!
-Bad Rupert!: ABC and 20/20 will air a special report showing how shady American Idol is and how Paula had a "special" relationship with some whack singer. Obviously, ABC wants to take down the monster, but I don't see much coming out of it. I don't watch much prime-time shows as it is, but I'll try to watch the special. Let alone, American Idol will still get decent ratings after the fact. I find it funny how all the 3 "idols" never became shit. Kelly is coming up lately which is nice, but Ruben and Fantasia are mainly making big bucks on the B.E.T. Gospel circuit. William Hung has more shine than y'all!
-Kerry Used Presidential Campaign Funds To Pay Off Parking Tickets...: I see nothing wrong with this. If you have all that dough which isn't going to be used anyway, pay off them tickets and catch a Bo Sox game. People bitch about petty shit (including me).

Longest Blog Ever.
Picks:
-Spurs finish off Nugs tonight without any problem.
-Bulls win
-Rockets take control and win series thanks to TMAC and Yao.
-Pacers finish off the helpless Celts (GP to retire? I'd say so :( )

The Truth For Dummies: NBA Playoffs Edition

The Assumption: Kobe Bryant is the most dominant shooting guard in the league.
The Truth: Ray Allen is the most dominant shooter in the league.
Last night, Ray Allen was unconcious. You cannot tell me that Ray Allen is not the illest shooter in the league. Forget Peja, forget Reggie. Ray "I Deserve More Money Than #8" Allen cannot be defended. I'm not putting him in that all-around category like T-Mac or A.I., but boy's stroke was more pristine than spring water in Sac-Town. Nate McMillin knows how to create shots for him and they do it well.
I'm an old-school Sonics fan (Perkins, Kemp, GP), and it's nice to see them making noise in the post-season. Their young guys are playing their part extremely well. Ridnour is gonna be real nice in the future I think, maybe even Nash type. Shard is brushing off his High School tendencies and is maturing (finally). And for once they have rebounding! Fortson (who I would not wanna meet in person by myself in fear of getting whacked) is a beast who controls shit in the paint. Jerome "Who?" James is using his 7 foot length like he should. It's amazing seeing him make moves in the paint like he is against the Kings.
I honestly feel the Sonics could make a series with the Spurs (if everything goes as scheduled). We got enough big men to hold Duncan down whether its by hacking or straight up defending. Ridnour can work against Parker well and hopefully Antonio Daniels or Ray can control Ginnobili. Manu is the one cat I fear most. He is the X-factor for the Spurs and if anything, he will decide the series. I know George Karl was bitching bout him "driving the lane and just elbowing people and drawing fouls." George, what are your players doing? Melo tries some bullshit spin moves and then gets stripped. Kenyon isn't doing much. The only player making a contribution is Andre Miller, and hes no lane dweller. You gotta respect Manu and his game. He knows how to put the ball in the basket and he isn't afraid of getting beat up.
Maybe I'll add more NBA shit in a later blog. All I know is that I haven't been interested in the NBA playoffs like this since the Knicks made their run in 99. Since then it's been dismal shit. Also, TNT beats the shit out of ESPN with the analysis and broadcasters. Also, having Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith and Sir Charles helps. A lot better than Legler, Greg Anthony and my enemy Stephen A. Smith. Can't stand dude. Anyways, I'm gone. 9 days left in NY. Then FL. Then MAYBE NYC for an internship. Hopefully....

Wake Up Wake Up

My boy Alejandro used to call me (before Matso owned or knew about a celly) every first of the month and would recite the BTNH track. And then I'd school him 1-on-1 at the courts in my Larry Johnson Hornets jersey. Ah to be young again.
-What the fuck is wrong w/ Bizzy Bone? How much black tar heroin did dude pump? (Props to houstonsoreal for the linkage)
-How fucking ill is this? See how simple the Japanese are? I mean, besides trying to fuck w/ Godzilla, they are my favorite people. That's why my boss for 3 years was a Japanese man. Cleaning sushi bar tables like what.
-Fuck Sportsmanship: Man, my man Lou Pinella woulda been throwing bases and kicking dirt in a heartbeat. Why the fuck is the team allowing this many runs in the first place? "Play by the unwritten rules, and it won't happen." What?!!?! Not fucking your mom is an unwritten rule...but I still do it. Cause this is America bitch.
-WHY IS THERE NO QUALITY MUSIC COMING OUT LATELY? FOR GOD'S SAKE, PUT GOOD SHIT OUT!...same goes for movies. (EXCEPT KUNG FU HUSTLE! Another reason why Asians run shit)
-Black Eyed Peas to Split!! Do you realize how long I have demanded this?! I thought it'd be them before Schiavo...but I lost that bet (Sorry to those who took offense to that. I just really hate BEP. More than I ever hated the whole Schiavo Saga)
Anyways, I have a final Sociology paper to write. Then one other 3 page bullshit, and I'm essentially out of here...after a 10 day layover. Only final is 5/10. So if you're on the East coast, let a dude know and maybe I'll hit up your township. Not fucking w/ the Carolinas though. Fucking red dirt eating motherfuckers.

I'm reppin my gang MAIN

This new Yayo track produced by Dr. Dre is actually nice. I never really felt Yayo on any tip, but he comes correct on this cut.
"Live By The Gun"
-- Black Pope?! Sounds like a sitcom idea. I remember hearing about this a couple months ago and was intrigued by the repercussions. How would the world react? Obviously Africans & blacks would be comfortable with it, but I cannot see the white race being pleased at all with this. If they kill a boy for whistling at a white girl, I can't see how they would react nicely to God talking to a black man.
-- Teens view oral sex as safer choice: study. I wish I could have been the conductor of the survey.
-- Woman breastfeeds tiger cubs... Am I the only one world-wide not getting any action? But damn, that's risking a titty right there. Unless you know some plastic surgeons that can repair teeth ripped titty flesh, that idea should be vetoed.
-- R.I.P. Frank Perdue. Those crazy Mexicans and their translations. My friend told me my name in Mexican translates to: Anaconda.
I gotta study for this Record Production exam. Its simple, but I'm procrastinating.

R.I.P. Mitch Hedberg :\

"Hey Brian, do you know anyone who has AIDS? No?...Cool. "
One Track from his 1st comedy CD: Classic
He wasn't the most known comedian, but those who know comedy know him. If it comes out that overdosing was the cause, I wouldn't be surprised. I saw him last summer in West Palm Beach for a late show. Whether he was under the influence of pills or drunk is beyond me. He still was extremely funny though. Its rare that I purchase CDs, and I have both of his comedy CDs. I was fortunate enough to buy his first CD from his wife the first time I saw him live (props to my mom for coming with me to that show so I could get it). Whatever the case, besides 1980's Eddie Murphy, Mitch was my favorite comedian hands down.
I'm listening to his CDs right now just to try and laugh. Too many people dying lately, and the Pope's is imminent. Let alone soldiers in sand countries. I won't spout my propaganda so I'll end it off.
"Mitch, Smokey is more intimidating in person"
